AMASCO ALUMNI REUNION 2019: The historic homecoming of impact makers

It was Margaret Mead who said “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can CHANGE the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”

The greatest endowment of mankind is the ability to make an impact, especially where it never existed. No wonder that  Isaac Newton said, a body will continue in its state of motion until it is acted upon by a force.

There is hence no change until there is a force, and there is no force until there is a zeal. The wise people summarized it thus, “where there’s a will (zeal), there’s a way”.

I am very proud of this generation of Amasco Alumni for our mutual zeal and doggedness for change. In the last few months, we spoke change, we heard change and we saw change.

We did what had never been done in the history of Amauzari Comprehensive Secondary School. We convened a huge home coming which planning started and ended through online coordination.

We deserve all the accolades for such giant feat that has been most difficult to achieve.

The event recorded impressive turn out of people whose zeal could not be quenched even by the euphoria and super imposing events of Christmas.

I call you impact members because you have set the tone for subsequent home coming of umu Amasco.

As we cling tightly to this task of changing the face of education at Amasco, may those generations whose faces we cannot yet see, whose names we may never know, say of us here that we led our Alma mater into new decades with the Amasco vision alive for our children; with the promise of better a reality for our  people and with bright flame of prosperity  spreading throughout the succeeding  generations.

Umu Amasco, we’re indeed history makers!
