Recently, the United States placed Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa, in the list of countries with travel restrictions to the United States. In the case of Nigeria, the travel ban would most significantly affect ‘immigrant visa’ applications. With this development, the ability of individuals to file applications for members of their families in Nigeria, to move and live permanently in the United States has become severely threatened. Although this restriction is expected to affect all categories of Nigerian citizens who are eligible to migrate to the United States, it is noteworthy that the ordinary citizens will be most affected. Like every other policy change involving the country Nigeria, the ordinary citizens have always been at the receiving end of it, and suffering most of the negative consequences. It is no news that security has become a rising concern to nations and one of the threats to global peace and progress. It’s affected even the big game changers like America, Europe, Britain and so on. Down the road to the developing countries in Asia and Africa, security has taken a far bigger toll on the people, their lives and wellbeing. The real causes are not far fetched; from dwindling economy to unemployment, visionless leadership, surging population, and so on. It was Margaret Mead who said “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can CHANGE the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has” The greatest endowment of mankind is the ability to make an impact, especially where it never existed. No wonder that  Isaac Newton said, a body will continue in its state of motion until it is acted upon by a force. There is hence no change until there is a force, and there is no force until there is a zeal. There are only a few communities in the world who have supported themselves and supported its citizens the way that Amauzari has done. An autonomous community located in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Amauzari has a population of about 50, 000 most of whom are peasant farmers and traders. Geographically, it is the gateway city to Amaigbo (Nwangele Local Government), Nkwerre (Nkwerre Local Government), Amandugba (Njaba Local Government), Ogwa (Ikeduru Local Government), Atta (Ikeduru Local Government) and Amaraku (Isiala Mbano Local Government) of Imo State. Being one of the largest autonomous  communities in Imo State, Amauzari deserves to have benefitted from support of both the Federal, State and Local Governments. Alumni association is not a new idea in the history of humanity. What still stands as a challenge to most alumni association across the world is how to galvanize their thoughts, actions and aspirations towards their Alma mater. To say the least, most alumnus are desirous or positive ways to add value to the institution that formed part of their upbringing. Here are a few tips on how not miss the enormous opportunities that an alumni association offers to its members: 1. Start small: Never imagine that you can rebuild, reconstruct and rebrand all of that institution with flick of a finger.  2.
